The Master Systems & Project Engineer is responsible for the analysis, design, implementation and post documentation of customer cloud and on-premise technology projects, as well as providing 3rd level technical assistance to the technology support team members when required. In addition, the candidate must have the ability to understand the business impact of technology decisions within client networks and recommended the most comprehensive solution in our service catalog to meet the their business objectives. In this role, you will be part of a team of highly skilled Engineers and Project Managers that work collaboratively and individually to achieve successful completion of IT projects.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MASTER SYSTEMS ENGINEER

  • Perform assessments of new client technology environments.
  • Conduct new client onboardings: assess client network and systems; deploy managed services network and end-point tools.
  • Conduct client disaster recovery drills and table exercises to verify the proper function of backup and disaster recovery solutions of our clients.
  • Design and implement WAN/LAN wide area network and local area network solutions: routers, firewalls, switches WLAN and security solutions.
  • Design and implement private and public cloud solutions as well as traditional on-premise server and application solutions for customers using technologies including VMware, Windows Server, Office 365, SQL, RDS, Citrix and other technologies within our service catalog.
  • Design and implement storage, backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Design and implement end-point technology solutions including desktop and laptop rollouts, along with end-point software solutions.
  • Create system documentation on implemented technologies for support team to have efficient means of post implementation technical support.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MASTER SYSTEMS ENGINEER

  • Maintain industry expertise by staying current with new and emerging technologies.
  • Manage client and team expectations.
  • Contribute to the development and evolution of technical practices.
  • Manage products and inventory relative to assigned projects.
  • Travel to client sites and provide onsite service and support as necessary.
  • Provide on call support as assigned.
  • Attend and conduct internal and client meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE MASTER SYSTEMS ENGINEER

  • Minimum of 5 years of system infrastructure experience working with small to large scale enterprise network technology
  • Microsoft Windows Server (current and supported versions)
  • Office 365 (current and supported versions)
  • VMware (current and supported versions)
  • Windows Remote Desktop Server (current and supported versions)
  • Recent work with IBM and Lenovo server hardware
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge and application of IP
  • Active Directory
  • SAN technology
  • Enterprise backup solutions
  • Firewall appliances (Cisco, WatchGuard, SonicWall)
  • Router configuration experience
  • VPN technology
  • Proven customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional IT certifications are a plus: Microsoft MCP, MCITP, MCSA, or MCSE, Citrix CCEA or CCIA, Cisco CCNA or CCDA, or VMware VCP.
